The Comedy-O-Rama Hour
The Camp Waterlogg Halloween Party, part 2
 PODCAST: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/id572142422
It's Halloween when Mrs. Terrwilliger, Sgt. Lefty and Olive Pitts think the camp is haunted by the ghost of Pierre Terrwilliger (played by special guest star Fred Frees). It is really Ellis and Elise accidentally playing his last will video over the camp's new security system. Meanwhile, Andy and Lkie get spooky stories instead of candy for trick or treat.

Husband and wife team Joe Bev and Kellogg not only produce, direct and write the weekly comedy hour, except for guest star Fred Frees, they improvised all the character's voices, including four the radio cartoons: "Waking Nightmare", "The Evil Goblins", "The Crashed Martian", and "The Creature in the Attic" by Pedro Pablo Sacristan.

Remastered Rhapsodies:
The 78s of George Gershwin & more

PODCAST: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/id611001393

Remastered Rhapsodies: The 78s of George Gershwin & more
Rhapsody in Blue - The Paul Whiteman Orchestra, conducted by Nat Shilkret, with George Gershwin on piano (1927)
Creole Rhapsody - Duke Ellington and His Famous Orchestra (1931)
Fifi's Rhapsody - The John Kirby Orchestra (1941)
Ebony Rhapsody - Duke Ellington and His Famous Orchestra (1934)
The Guy With The Slide Trombone (Hungarian Rhapsody) The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra (1945)
Melancholy Rhapsody - The Harry James Orchestra (1941)
Lazy Rhapsody - Duke Ellington and His Famous Orchestra (1932)
Second Rhapsody - The Paul Whiteman Orchestra, with George Gershwin on piano (1931)

What makes The Jazz-O-Rama Hour unique is that Bev remasters all the 78 RPM records he plays.

"Most CD collections compress these old recordings to limit the hiss, pops and crackles. The result is a loss of the full depth of the music. I bring back all the bass, treble and mid-tones, so you can hear it all," explains Bev, who adds that listeners will notice a soft high pitched hiss on "Rhapsody in Blue," a small price to pay for the rich sound of Whiteman's band.

Halloween Happening By Daws Butler

Herman Tompkins is a snob. He has much more important things to do with his time than sit around chatting with people. In fact, he prides himself on having absolutely no “small talk” in him. Heck, he doesn’'t even have any medium talk in him. Naturally, Herman avoids social gatherings at all costs, including, and especially, parties. He is, what you might call in technical terms, a “party pooper.” So when Herman and his wife Beulah are invited to the annual Halloween bash at their friend Marilyn’s house his unequivocal answer is no. But you know how it is with married couples. On Halloween night Herman and Beulah are on their way to Marilyn’s house, in the middle of a torrential downpour no less. But Beulah has a special surprise for Herman on this stormy Halloween night. She knows very well that they will not be arriving at Marilyn’s house at all, but another more secluded location along the way. This is the night that Beulah is finally going to reveal to her husband exactly who, and what, she is.

If there was an award for best husband and wife narrating team, I think the clear winners would be Joe Bevilacqua and Lorie Kellogg. Come to think of it, why isn’t there an award for best husband and wife narrating team? Somebody needs to look into that. Anyway, individually, Joe and Lorie are both extremely talented voice artists. They can both do lots of entertaining voices, not just characterizations but whole personalities, and they both have a fine flair for drama, satire, and comedy. Put them together and, well, need I say more? If you haven’t heard these two at work, you’re missing out on something special.     - Steven Brandt, Audiobook Heaven

New Jersey born Joe Bevilacqua (Joe Bev) has been producing radio in many genres since 1971 when he was twelve. At 19 in 1980, Bev became the youngest person to produce a radio show for public radio. He co-hosted The Jazz Show with Garret Gega in the early 80s, a four hour a week mix classic jazz and comedy. Bev also worked for WBGO, Jazz 88 in Newark, NJ and produced documentaries for WNYC New York Public Radio on jazz legends including Louis Armstrong, Wynton Marsalis, Count Basie, Woody Herman, Cab Calloway, and Lionel Hampton. Bev is primarily known as a radio theater dramatist. However, his career has taken him into every aspect of show business, including stage, film and television, as a producer, director, writer, actor, and even cartoonist.

Not content to hide behind his microphone, Bevilacqua will be seen acting in the upcoming feature films: "The Green Blade Rises" directed A.J. Edwards, "The Fly Room" directed by Alexis Gambis, "Cold in July" directed by Jim Mickle, and "Hits" directed by David Cross. He will be seen as British General Bernard Montgomery in the upcoming History Channel WWII miniseries. Joe Bev also tours the NY-NJ area as Bud Abbott to Bob Greenberg's Lou Costello.
