Joe Bev presents This Here is Your Life, Sherlock Holmes, written and voiced by Daws Butler, Douglas McEwan and members of The Daws Butler Workshop, including Billy Simpson, Pat Parris and Corey Burton, in 1976, on The 40th edition of The Joe Bev Experience. In This Here is Your Life, Sherlock Holmes, Ralph Backwards (Daws Butler)--along with Watson, Dracula, Jack-the-Ripper, and even Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman--roast the famous consulting detective, played by the great English actor Ben Wright.
Douglas McEwan is interviewed during the hour about the 1976 recording. McEwan explains: ''I was hired as a writer, having been connected through to it by Sean Wright of the Sherlock Holmes Society. Daws took to my writing style immediately, and after hearing me read back pieces I wrote for it, hired me on to act in it as well. Daws and Mike Hodel, who plays Watson, and I all stayed good friends for the rest of their lives. I'm Oscar Wilde and Dracula in this show.''

No fictional character is more renowned for his powers of thought and observation than Sherlock Holmes. Written by Penny Mae Cartawick, Mystery Chronicles of Sherlock Holmes features five compelling Sherlock Holmes mysteries in one collection:
"The Castle Orphans": "How often does he visit you?" added Watson, producing his pipe from his pocket. He searched the same pocket for a match then lit the device. "He visits every week and every few nights. He likes to sneak in the window and take things back to his castle!" The small girl played with the little tiger upon her knee.
"The Curse of a Native": Adams had violently slapped Kimilu so hard that the sheer force had floored the waiter, and the usually humble waiter had lost it. He had stood up and angrily talked back at him in his native language, which Adams did not understand. But Butler had lived in Africa for over two decades, and he understood every word. The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark (Adaptation)
Written by: Joe Bevilacqua - adaptation
When veteran award-winning radio theater producer Joe Bevilacqua was a student in his final semester at Kean College (now Kean University) in 1982, he designed his own course, in which he produced and directed a radio version of Hamlet.
Casting Kean faculty and students, and portraying the melancholy Danish prince himself, Bevilacqua did not simply complete his nearly four-hour radio adaption of Shakespeare's greatest work. He did so while carrying a double major in speech-theater-media-communication and English and while producing, acting in, and sometimes writing radio plays for the WKNJ Radio Theater he founded at the college station. He also portrayed Dr. Martn Dysart in Equus on the Kean Stage and worked 24 hours per week as the assistant manager of Kean's Writing and Math Lab.
After graduating summa cum laude, Bevilacqua saw his production of Hamlet picked up and distributed by the National Federation of Community Broadcasters (NFCB) and aired on public radio stations nationwide.
Bevilacqua went on to become one of the most prolific radio-drama producers in the United States as well as an on-camera actor in such films asThe Fly Room and The Better Angels. He also appeared in television shows, including portraying British General Bernard Montgomery in the History Channel's The Wars and the head of NBC in 1931 for HBO's Boardwalk Empire.
The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare at an uncertain date between 1599 and 1602. Set in the Kingdom of Denmark, the play dramatizes the revenge Prince Hamlet is instructed to enact on his uncle, Claudius. Claudius had murdered his own brother, Hamlet's father, and subsequently seized the throne. He also married his deceased brother's widow, Gertrude.
