"The Silhouette" on The Joe Bev Audio Theater Today at 5pm ET on Sound Stages Radio


On Saturday, August 24, at 5 pm ET, Sound Stages Radio will present The Joe Bev Audio Theater's production of "The Silhouette Meets His Reflection" (an Oldtime Radio Parody).

Sound Stages Radio is airing two unique Joe Bev Audio Theater shows per week: Tuesdays 8:30 am ET, repeat Wednesdays 2:30 pm ET and Fridays 1:30 pm Fridays, repeat Saturdays 5:00 pm, streamed at www.soundstagesradio.com.


The Joe Bev Audio Theater, a half-hour anthology representing more than forty years of storytelling by Joe Bevilacqua (Joe Bev), the veteran, award-winning actor, writer, producer, director.

Not quite up to the standards of "The Shadow," but "The Silhouette" Lamont Cranberry does have the power to cloud men's minds so that they can only see part of him. The voice of Rocky the Flying Squirrel (June Foray) meets the voice of Bart Simpson (Nancy Cartwright) on the improvisational radio theater show.

On this week's show, the characters of Camp Waterlogg (voiced entirely by Joe Bevilacqua and Lorie Kellogg) visit the real Four Winds Farm to buy starter plants. Meanwhile, two locals (Played by June Foray and Nancy Cartwright) talk about a big garage sale just ending.

June Foray is best known as the voice of many animated characters (particularly Lucifer from Cinderella, Rocky the Flying Squirrel, Cindy Lou Who, Jokey Smurf, Witch Hazel, Granny, Natasha Fatale and Nell Fenwick). Her career has encompassed radio, theatrical shorts, feature films, television, record albums (particularly with Stan Freberg and Daws Butler), video games, talking toys and other media. Foray voiced the wife of the man getting dunked ("Don't tell him, Carlos!") in Pirates of the Caribbean. Foray was one of the founding members of ASIFA-Hollywood, the society devoted to promoting and encouraging animation.

Joe Bevilacqua, also known as Joe Bev is primarily known as a radio theater dramatist. However, his career has taken him into every aspect of show business, including stage, film and television, as a producer, director, writer, actor, and even cartoonist.

In 1971, Bevilacqua's father bought him a cassette recorder, on which is created his first audio story: Willoughby and the Professor, acting all the voices himself at the age of 12.

In 1975, Daws Butler, the voice of Yogi Bear and many Hanna-Barbera and Jay Ward cartoon characters, dubbed himself Joe Bev's personal mentor, after hearing 120 minute cassette of Bev's Willoughby improvisations.

Since 1980, Bevilacqua has produced any award-winning radio programs for National Public Radio, Sirius XM Radio and others.

In 2012, Bevilacqua signed an exclusive distribution deal with Blackstone Audio, for his more than 40 years of audio work. He is currently releasing hundreds of hours of audio documentaries, comedies, dramas, autobiographies and more.

Joe & Bob as Bud & Lou

Joe Bev can do hundreds of voices, dialects and impressions. For the upcoming movie "The Fly Room," he not only portrayed the on screen character of Uncle Dwight, he was personally commissioned by the director Alexis Gambis, to act as vocal coach to the cast during the entire shoot and wrote, produced and voiced a number of audio sound beds in the style of old time radio for use in the film.

Joe Bevilacqua also acts on stage, playing Martin Dysart in "Equus", roles in "Bedroom Farce," "Applause," "Black Comedy" and others. He is currently touring as Bud Abbott to Bob Greenberg's Lou Costello in "A Tribute to Bud & Lou", and will be portraying Jimmy Durante in the October 2013 production of "Coney Island Criminals" being performed the month of October 2013 at Coney Island.
